2016: A Year In Review!

I can’t believe it’s 2017, but I am so excited that it is!!! Some huge things happened in 2016, and I thought it would be fun to begin the new year by looking back on some of my favorite moments. In March, Cory asked me to marry him. I had no idea it was happening, which made for the most special night!! That same night, we also shared our first kiss after he told me that he loved me (another first)!! Following the proposal he had set up a surprise engagement party with all of our closest friends and family! Needless to say, Cory did amazing. The months following were spent wedding planning and preparing to be a wife!! This was the MOST fun time because I LOVE planning things.

I wasn’t the only one who got married this year. I was a bridesmaid in 4 of my closest friend’s weddings, which made for lots of dancing, bridesmaid dresses and wedding showers! Luckily, weddings are one of my favorite things to attend especially when I’ve got the best date by my side. They were all amazing and made for some memorable nights!

Traveling is one of my all time favorite things to do, and I love that I now have a travel partner. This year, through a mix of weddings, work, and our honeymoon, Cory and I were able to visit New Mexico, Colorado, California, Florida, and Bora Bora. Our hope is to do a lot more traveling in the future. Any recommendations on where we should go next?

Obviously the best thing about 2016 was getting married, which you can read more about here. The second best thing about this year was our honeymoon in Bora Bora. Bora Bora was amazing in every way possible. From the resort, to the views, to the food, it was absolutely incredible! We even met Michael Kors!! (Sadly he didn’t give me a free purse) Every morning room service delivered breakfast to our little hut and it was extremely yummy. I told Cory that he shouldn’t get too used to the fancy breakfast though, because I wasn’t planning on cooking a 5-star breakfast every morning once we got home! Haha!

Last, but not least, we bought and moved into our first home together. We looked at about 25 houses before we found the right one. As soon as Cory and I walked in to this house though, we knew it was where we wanted to live. Decorating and furnishing our home has been challenging, but has also been something I have really enjoyed. It’s so fun to take a completely empty room and turn it into something that we both love!
2016 was a year of many firsts, and I am so grateful for every single moment. It’s been my favorite year for so many reasons, but I can’t wait to begin 2017 knowing God has a whole lot more in store. What were your most memorable events from 2016? I would love to hear about them. Comment below!

Here’s to many more adventures in 2017!

Love,
Amy Cotton
