Hi friends! I can’t believe it’s been 10 weeks since my last bumpdate!!! Time is honestly flying by and I wanted to pop over here and update y’all on how my pregnancy is going!
Baby Boy Cotton and Baby Girl Cotton Update
Since we’re pregnant with twins, it’s automatically considered a high-risk pregnancy. All that means for me is that I’ve been going to a high risk doctor in addition to my normal OBGYN ever since we found out we were having two. My high risk appointments are way more in depth and they last at least an hour long. The doctor typically goes through each baby and checks to make sure everything looks normal and that everyone is growing at a healthy rate.
We love getting to see our babies and check in on them so often, HOWEVER, the last two high risk appointments have been really rough on my body. For some reason I get really light headed and sick when they do my ultra sounds and it is not fun! We’ve decided the problem is me laying on my back while they press on my belly. Not a good combo.
At my last appointment the babies were each measuring around 2 1/2 lbs! So I’m guessing they’re both over three at this point! AHHH! It’s still so surreal! We got the cutest picture of baby boy that I’m just in love with and can’t stop staring at. Everyone says it looks just like Cory, which I think is the sweetest because I would love for him to look just like his dad! We don’t get as many good pictures of baby girl for some reason, but we’re still praying she’ll have red hair! Haha!
I also got this pair of maternity jeans from Madewell that I’ve started to wear a ton as the temperatures begin to cool down! I’d been using the Bella Band for a while and it worked great, but as I continue to grow, I know these jeans will be way better for where I’m at. These look super cute also!
This dress is also a new favorite. It’s perfect for the transition from summer to fall!
Lastly, I got this maternity tank, which I love!
My appetite is fully back, which is great! Normally for breakfast I’ll have eggs and a smoothie or a bowl of cereal! I’m still craving lots of fruit… specifically nectarines, cantaloupe frozen grapes, and apples. Eating in general has been a learning process for me throughout pregnancy. Some days I’ll eat a meal and still feel hungry afterwards and some days I’ll eat a meal and feel so full that I can’t move. It’s basically always changing and I just try and listen to my body each day.
Sleep (Or lack of.. haha)
Y’all my sleep has gone downhill fast. I’ve never been a good sleeper, but I’m at an all time low now. Even though I’m comfortable because of my pregnancy pillow, I still seem to wake up at least once every 3 hours. Luckily, I can take naps during the day if I need to, which I do almost every day! (Haha!)
We currently have some names that we love, but we’re not 100% sure yet. We’re going to wait and share them when they’re born!
My friends threw a baby shower for baby boy and baby girl and it was the absolute sweetest. The twins are already so loved and Cory and I are so thankful to have such an amazing community of friends and family around us as we welcome two new precious lives into this world.
So overall, everything is going great! We’re working a lot on the nursery, which I probably won’t post any pictures of until it’s completely done. And that probably won’t happen until after they arrive! Haha! I’m definitely getting bigger and bigger each day and it’s hard to believe that we will have two babies in less than 7 weeks! Until then, we’re praying for them to keep growing healthy and strong! Y’all have a great weekend!
Love, Amy Cotton
