Anniversary Weekend in Dallas

On August 6th Cory and I celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary! We were extremely happy to celebrate and Cory planned the BEST secret weekend for us!
On Friday night we went to Randy’s Steakhouse in downtown Frisco. We’d heard a lot of good things about it so we finally went and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is in a huge historical mansion built in the 1800’s. We both got blue cheese stuffed fillet and it was AMAZING! They even included us on the anniversary board! How sweet is that?

Saturday morning Cory had planned a brunch at a sweet spot in Dallas, The Joule. The Joule is our favorite hotel because it is where we stayed the night we got married. I LOVED going back and the food was just as sweet as my memories of the hotel! Right next to the Joule is this huge eyeball that we felt like we just had to take pictures in front of! Haha

After brunch we headed to Deep Ellum to do a little shopping and exploring! I think I can count the number of times I’ve been to Deep Ellum on one hand, so I wasn’t sure what I would think of it, but it actually seemed like the place to be when we got there. It was so lively and there were so many people out and about. All of the stores were extremely unique and they were really fun to check out!

We later headed to West Village shopping center and tried out Brewed + Pressed, which is an organic juice, shake, and coffee place. Cory and I have recently been on a health kick so he wanted to take us to a healthy place! I got a green juice and Cory got a shake, but I wouldn’t say they were the best things we’ve ever tried! Mine tasted like I was literally drinking the earth. Haha! I’m still trying to find the perfect juice place that is both sweet and healthy!
Obviously we couldn’t complete our healthy part of the day without getting some new workout clothes! Right next door to Brewed + Pressed was a store called Lorna Jane. I’d never been inside before, but it has a similar feel to Lulu Lemon. I got some new workout tops that I’m extremely excited to wear.
When we were at Lorna Jane we got a text that one of our couple friends had went into labor and had their baby! So we put our anniversary weekend on hold and headed back to Plano to meet the new baby boy, which was so special!

On Sunday after church we resumed Cory’s secret anniversary weekend at a restaurant called Kitchen LTO! This place was SO good and had the COOLEST concept! LTO stands for Limited Time Only, which basically means the chef and food are only there for a limited amount of time. Every 6 months they get a new chef, new menu and new artwork. We had the yummiest food and I can’t wait to go back in a couple of months to try out the new menu!

The last stop on our anniversary tour was at an icecream shop called Chills 360. I don’t know if you’ve heard of this place, but if you love icecream you should definitely give it a try! It is a Thai inspired icecream shop where they roll your icecream into little rolls. (Haha I don’t know what else to call it!) The only downside is that we had to wait an hour in line because of the popularity of the place! I thought it was delicious though so I’d say it was worth it!

Thanks to my hubby who planned the most special weekend for us both! I can’t wait for many more months and years of marriage with you!
Love,
Amy Cotton
