Friday Favorites No. 4

Happy Friday!! I hope everyone had a great week! Cory and I celebrated our 6th month wedding anniversary last weekend, (If you’ve been married for a long time this probably doesn’t seem like a big deal, but to us it was a very big deal haha) and Cory planned such a fun weekend that I can’t wait to share with you! Other than that, life is pretty normal and is filled with lots of errands!
Here are some of my favorites from this week…
No. 1
Cory and I are in a foundation group, which is a group of couples from our church that we meet with once a week. We’ve been with these sweet friends for 4 months now and it’s been so fun getting to know each other, study God’s worth together, and be vulnerable by sharing our life struggles with one another. I’m super thankful for everyone, but especially the girls in our group!
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel. – Proverbs 12:15

This Tuesday was Cory and my first Valentine’s Day as a married couple! I woke up early and made a Valentine’s breakfast for us, and I think it turned out pretty well. The pancakes were harder than they seem and I didn’t get the hang of it until about my 8th pancake. Haha! They were either too thick, to thin, or didn’t look like a heart. At the end of the day all that mattered was that they tasted good, which they did!!
For dinner Cory took us to a restaurant we’d never been to before called Grayson Social. It was in Dallas, had a super cute environment, and yummy southern food. One of our favorite things was the bacon mac n’ cheese! It was literally amazing!!

A friend and I recently took a girl’s trip to Wimberly, Texas, which made for an extremely relaxing weekend. Wimberly is about 4 hours from Dallas, but it really felt like an easy drive. We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast, which I’ve never done before and was a unique experience (haha), but it was great and we could walk to all the local shops, which were so precious, and restaurants, which were surprisingly really yummy. Wimberly has a ton of wineries and vineyards so we decided to go on a wine tour which was a lot of fun. We got to try 6 wines at each stop, but my favorite winery we went to was called Driftwood Estate Winery, which overlooked their very own beautiful vineyard. Has anyone else been here? It’s the best place for a fun girl’s weekend.

Cory convinced me to go see The Lego Batman Movie, and I was pleasantly surprised. I actually really liked and it and would recommend seeing it even if you don’t like Batman or Legos! Haha!
No. 5
Okay, I tried a new braid this week. I went to the Drybar before our Valentine’s date and I told the lady doing my hair I wanted some sort of braid and this is what she came up with! Cory and I both loved it and thought it was so fun! A little half-up braid bun with curls! I haven’t tried to do it myself yet, but the lady told me it was super easy so I can’t wait to try soon!
That’s all of my favorites from this week! Have an amazing weekend!

  1. Love your hair! Now I want to try to fix my hair like that lol. The heart shaped pancakes are too cute. I had full intentions on waking up early and making heart shaped cinnamon rolls for my husband but our alarm didn't go off…so I told him I would make it up to him this weekend lol. You win some, you loose some! Your girls weekend sounds so fun! Hope y'all have a great weekend! 🙂
