Cory and I just got home from the most amazing trip to Maui, Hawaii and I can’t wait to share all about it. Dude Perfect (Cory’s job) needed to go to Hawaii for some work related reasons, and lucky for us, all the wives were invited! We spent 6 nights in Maui at the Ritz Carlton Resort, saw volcanoes, whales, waterfalls, went to a luau, and had a blast the whole time.
On our first full day in Maui, we drove down the Road to Hana to Twin Falls. This was definitely one of the highlights (in my opinion) of the trip. From our hotel, it took about 2 hours to get to the falls, but it was so worth it. If you are planning to drive the Road to Hana, a great stop for lunch or snacks is in Paia. We had lunch at Flatbread Company and after went to the most delicious gelato place a few stores down.
Once you park at the falls, it’s about a .5 mile hike through the rain forest to the main waterfall. It was really easy and I think almost anyone could do it. The water in the falls was extremely cold, but we braved the temperature and went for a little dip! The guys were much braver and swam out to the waterfall!
This was a really cool experience and something I was extremely excited for. We were on the boat for about 2 hours and we saw multiple whales breach (jump) and swim around us. I couldn’t believe how big they were! Overall, it was super fun, relaxing, and a great time out on the water.
Something I’ve always wanted to do, but never have before, is ride in a helicopter! Let me tell you, if you’re ever going to splurge on on a helicopter ride, Hawaii is the place to do it. It was such an incredible way to see the whole island. Cory and I rode in the front seat with the pilot and we all wore headphones with little microphones attached, which allowed us to talk to each other during the flight! (I had to refrain myself from screaming in the microphone a couple of times when I got scared.. haha!) We flew next to waterfalls and over volcanoes, but my favorite part was watching the whales swim and jump when we flew above them.
Other than that, we laid by the pool, ate a lot of chips and guacamole, took multiple trips to the hotel spa, and had a super amazing and chill trip! It was the perfect way to bring in the new year and I left feeling refreshed and excited for 2018.
What are some of YOUR favourite things to do on vacation?? Maui in particular…I LOVE adding to my To Do list!!!
