Sorry for my extended absence from the blog, but Cory and I have some exciting news… WE’RE PREGNANT! I still can’t believe it as I type these words, but we couldn’t be more thankful for not just one baby, but TWO!! That’s right, we’re having TWINS! Ahhhhhhhhh! We are over the moon thrilled and I’m so relieved to finally share the news!
The first 18 weeks weren’t the easiest, which is why I decided to take a break from blogging for a little while. I had a lot of morning sickness and basically all day nausea. Now that I’m 20 weeks (almost 21), I’m finally starting to feel somewhat normal again, which I’m seriously so thankful for!
Some of my favorite things right now are:
This pregnancy pillow! I started having some hip and leg pain when I slept, but now that I use this pillow it has completely alleviated that. I’m already a terrible sleeper, but at least with this pillow it helps me be more comfortable!
Frozen grapes and nectarines! Haha! I seriously can’t get enough.
Baby clothes haha. I can already tell I’m going to have a major shopping problem when it comes to buying baby clothes. I snagged a couple of things from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and also ordered a ton of things from Old Navy and Gap. Baby clothes are just the cutest. My goodness! Moms… where are your favorite places to shop for baby clothes?
Jeans and denim started becoming uncomfortable a couple of weeks ago so I got this belly band, which is a game changer.
I started taking these gummy prenatal vitamins at about week 15 because I was having trouble swallowing my normal prenatal every day. I actually look forward to taking them now because they’re so good! Haha!
I think I’ve finally started to feel the babies move. I’m not 100% sure (haha), but from the way everyone describes it at the beginning, I think that’s what I feel. It’s honestly amazing and sometimes I don’t want to fall asleep at night because It seems like they’re very active during that time of day.
When I found out I was pregnant, I ordered this weekly devotional that walks you through devotionals and prayers specific to what your baby is developing that week! It’s really sweet and I love getting to pray for things like my babies’ fingers, toes and hair.
Last, but certainly not least, I couldn’t of made it through the first couple of months without my amazing hubby! There were days (most days actually haha) I literally wouldn’t move from the couch from the time he left for work until the time he got home, and not once did he ever say anything other than the most positive things. At one point I apologized to him for no longer doing anything productive around the house (cooking, cleaning, etc) and he told me that whenever I feel like I’m not being productive to just remember that my body is being very productive. I thought it was the sweetest thing! Love you boo!
Thanks so much for reading and sharing in our special news. I’ll probably post the gender or genders of our babies soon so make sure you check back!
Love, Amy Cotton
