What’s Up Wednesday: March 2017

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week and is enjoying the LAST week of March! I absolutely can’t believe this Saturday is already April 1!

It’s time for What’s Up Wednesday!!

1.    What we’re eating this week:

Cory and I decided to try out Freshly, which is a pre-cooked, healthy food delivery service. We did it for 2 weeks and it here are my thoughts about it.

1. I didn’t have to grocery shop or cook, which was a nice break.
2. The meals come pre-cooked and all you have to do is reheat them.
3. All of the meals are gluten free, natural, and never frozen.
1. Something about a meal coming in a black plastic container just isn’t appetizing to me.
2. They give you a choice of meals to chose from, but I wished there were more options.

Overall, the food was pretty good. However, it wasn’t so good that we would want to have it again. Also, I like to cook and I missed not doing it. We have canceled our subscription as of now, but would be open to doing it for a week here or there during a busy season. If you ever try it, get the southwestern chicken bowl! That was my favorite.

2.    What I’m reminiscing about:
Cory and I recently went to a wedding in Magnolia, Texas that was so much fun. Despite the rainy ceremony, it was so sweet getting to celebrate with the new bride and groom! Congrats Stephen and Amanda!!!

3.    What I’m loving:
We just got our first Magnolia Journal in the mail and I am beyond excited about it! This will definitely  be something I look forward to receiving every month.

4.    What we’ve been up to:

This past weekend I had so much fun in Waco with some girlfriends and Cory’s family at the Spring at the Silos! You can read all about my trip here.

5.    What I’m dreading:

Nothing really!!

6.    What I’m working on:

I got a Cricut cutting machine a couple of weeks ago and am still in the beginning phase of learning how to use it. Does anyone else have one? Any tips? It seems very intimidating as of now! Haha!

7.    What I’m excited about

Our church has a ministry called Apples of Gold, which I started last week and am SO excited about. The class is a cooking, mentoring and bible study that older women from our church put on for newly married wives. I think it’s going to be really fun!

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, purse, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.” -Titus 2:3-5

8.    What I’m watching:
I was always obsessed with 19 Kids and Counting so now I’m equally as obsessed with Counting On, which follows the lives of some of the Duggar daughters. I missed a couple of episodes on the most recent season so I’m currently catching up on those!

I also just started watching this show called American Housewife. It’s really cute so far! What are your favorite shows to watch? I need recommendations!

9.    What I’m listening to:

We saw the new Beauty and the Beast last week and ever since I can’t stop listening to the soundtrack. Have yall seen the movie yet? It’s so good! The soundtrack is equally as amazing.

10. What I’m wearing
Last week I wrote a post about all of my favorite Spring clothes! Included are things I own and things on my wish list!! You can check that out here.

11. What I’m doing this weekend

I’m going to a cooking class with my parents on Friday, which I’m so excited about! Cory and I are going over to a friends house for dinner on Saturday to catch up. Other than that, I would like to go to the Tulip Farm in Pilot Point. I keep seeing pictures from it and it looks so pretty and fun! Have any of you been?

12. What I’m looking forward to next month
I get to go with Cory on a work trip to Missouri in April, which I’m very much looking forward to! I always love when I get to travel with him!
13. What else is new

Cory and I just celebrated one year from the day he asked me to marry him! You can read our proposal story and check out more pictures from that special day here.

Bonus question this month: What is your favorite Spring thing to wear?
Definitely dresses and anything with color!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

  1. I have lots to say about this post.. haha! Basically we need to be besties! 🙂 First, the tulip farm closed for the season last weekend.. so you missed it, boo! We went several times and it was best right when it opened, so keep that in mind for next year! I have finally broken through the cricut intimidation and am loving it. You just need a project in mind to force you to figure it out.. I've been making stuff for my bestie's gender reveal! Also Counting On is my FAVORITE. Like, I want to be best friends with Jinger and Jessa. Haha!

  2. Haha noooo!!! How did I miss the dates for the tulip farm??? Oh well. Yeah… I've only gotten as far as making the practice project that the Cricut machine comes with!! I was really impressed, just haven't worked up the courage to do something original! Lol. Oh my goodness when I saw that Jinger was moving to Texas I was like hmmm the friendship possibility is becoming more real!!! Hahah

  3. Annnnd just like that, I've bcome ob-sessed with you! haha I love everything about this post from your dress and earrings at the wedding to taking a cooking class with your parents! I also am in shock that Saturday kicks off April! Wow! Thanks for linking up with us today! xo

  4. Totally feeling the same as Jessi – you just are the cutest thing! I love that you went to the silos for their spring celebration. My mom and I are hoping to make a trip there late summer/fall! Your proposal picture just looks so sweet – I definitely need to go read about that. Where are you guys traveling to in MO?
